[edit]Soissons was the (Roman) capital of all Northern Gaul north of Poitiers and Tours for ten years after the deposure of the last Western Roman Emperor.--T. Mc. 18:09, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
What was J.B.S. Haldane talking about regarding Soissons in the paragraph before this [1] - both regarding the market place and the destruction of the town (in the First World War, I presume)? EdDavies 12:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
St. Crispin
[edit]Perhaps there should be some mention of the martyring of St. Crispin?
WWI
[edit]Should somebody possibly mention that there was a battle here in WWI?

massacre
[edit]It says that there was a massacre in Soissons during the Hundred Years War. The source given is a nineteenth century historical adventure novel. That is not a proper source. Maybe someone can supply a good source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.208.138.56 (talk) 22:24, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
Quarries
[edit]Alice Williamson wrote a book in 1915 “What I Found Out in the House of a German Prince”. She reports a rumour on pg. 179 that General Von Kluck had visited Soissons in 1913 to buy some quarries there to fit up for use as trenches in the expected war with France. Is there any record of this? 77.69.34.203 (talk) 12:59, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Panorama
[edit]The panorama photo is labeled Amiens, not Soissons. And indeed, it appears to be Amiens. Larrymccallum (talk) 21:04, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
