Romanian version

[edit]

Please add link to the Romanian version ro:GNU_FDL as alternate language; that article has actually been translated on Wikipedia, and that's also the current unofficial Romanian translation of GFDL as listed on www.gnu.org. --Gutza 13:53, 5 Jan 2004 (UTC)

How to use this License for your documents

[edit]

The section "How to use this License for your documents" needs to be part of the main license text, as it is specifically referenced in section 4F of the text. Martin 22:50, 15 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Cleanup

[edit]

May I suggest a little polish? Section 1 is quite contorted in defining document. Why not start Section 1 with "throughout this license, the term "document" is used to mean any manual or other work, in any medium, that contains a notice placed by the copyright holder saying it can be distributed under the terms of this License. Such a notice grants a world-wide, royalty-free license, unlimited in duration, to use that work under the conditions stated herein. --(talk)BozMo 21:32, 11 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

No, it can't be changed. It has to be the official Free Software Foundation text as found at http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html. Angela. 03:08, May 12, 2004 (UTC)

Irony

[edit]

Its ironic that the GNU description is locked.  :) No...there has to be somewhere for the GNU document to be held, because for a material to abide by it there has to be an UNALTERED version somewhere in the document. If it was unprotected, it would not remain unaltared for long. HereToHelp (talk) 23:25, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Spoken Wikipedia

[edit]

This needs to be moved to the bottom of the page after the text of the licence: {{Spoken Wikipedia|GFDL_(English).ogg|2005-05-28}} — Chameleon 18:27, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Done, though not by me. I'm going to move this to the "resolved issues" section; if someone has a reason to object, move it back.HereToHelp (talk) 23:25, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
