[edit]In 1991,resolution # 3379 from 1975 was overturned by resolution # 4686under the pressure of the US and as part of the condition for the state of Israel to attend the Madrid Peace conference. Resolution # 4686 stated:
"The general assembly decides to revoke the determination contained in its resolution 3379 of 10 November 1975."
Of the 165 nations in the UN General Assembly, 25 continued to oppose resolution # 4686, some stating that the very idea of a Jewish sovereign nation which all other people claim as a Godgiven right was racist and should continue to be a binding resolution.

Addition of "situation in the middle east" in the lead
[edit]I do not see why this paragraph was added by Qualitatis to the lead. The article is simply about a narrow resolution revoking a particular UN resolution. There is no implication that this means that the UN accepts Israeli policies more generally. I also do not see any WP:RS connecting the two. I have removed this as WP:OR for now. Why does this article exist?
[edit]As far as I can see there are very few references to this, and this is primarily notable in that it was a revocation of an earlier resolution. Why does this article exist as a stand-alone? What does it add which is not covered in the other article? Kingsindian ♝♚ 11:21, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- Right, there is very little here that is not already in the other article. You should propose a merger, see WP:MERGE. Zerotalk 13:11, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- I have created a merger discussion here. Kingsindian ♝♚ 14:08, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
