[edit]Interesting article - don't understand a word of it! But, this is really out of my league. This seems like such a nice topic, but its also filled with a lot of jargon. I hope I'm not being overyl critical. I'm a mathematician - I understand fully that one needs to start at the beginning to get anywhere. One sentence that stuck out:
"The spatiotemporal expression pattern of a particular gene can be identified by placing a reporter gene under the downstream control of the promoter of said gene."
What is meant by 'donwstream control'?
