Joe Johnson is On the Brooklyn Nets Awesomeman2424 (talk) 14:11, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Not done for now: There is a moratorium period in NBA until July 11. No deals can be officially completed until then. See also discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Basketball_Association#Free_agent_signings.—Bagumba (talk) 15:25, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't made a Wiki comment in a couple years, so forgive me if I screw up the formatting here. Anyway, while the move isn't "official" yet, it should still be mentioned on the Article page. Currently, it's not -- and this is a mistake IMO. Also, I followed the link you referenced -- it merely says that unofficial moves should be noted as such. It doesn't prohibit the posting of unofficial moves. I therefore second the request to update the Joe Johnson article to include information regarding his conditional trade to the Nets. I also question whether this article merits protection. --Mavajo (talk) 14:18, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- Teams are not allowed to comment on any deals until July 11. If Johnson himself announced the deal, like in Steve Nash's case, I think it would be warranted. Since its unofficial and based on unnamed sources, I would recommend to just wait.—Bagumba (talk) 16:36, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

- And I disagree. Johnson going to the Nets is generally accepted, if not necessarily confirmed. Also, the teams involved and Johnson himself may not have spoken to the credibility yet, but the website owned and operated by the league that they're all in has spoken to it's accuracy. It's also a primary reason people would be visiting this wikipedia page right now (it's what originally brought me here). I think a case could be made that Johnson's potential trade to the Nets is the single most noteworthy thing about him, as far as current events go. Again, I've seen nothing that says mentioning Johnson's potential trade to the Nets is prohibited -- this seems to be more of your personal opinion which doesn't jive with the rules you cited. It should be added. Oh, and once again the article has been semi-protected? I think someone's taking a bit too much personal control of this article. Also, I'm not sure why you're the lone authority on this discussion. I think you should yield. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mavajo (talk) 21:25, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Partly done: Previous requests were to change as if the trade is completed. All reliable sources I have seen are clear that it is not official, though most are discussing it as a formality. As a compromise, I've added that a reported trade is pending, but a moratorium is in place.—Bagumba (talk) 22:06, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Mistake
[edit]"Johnson continued his development in the 2006–07 season, when he averaged 25.0 points, 4.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.05 steals per game. His 25.0 scoring average was behind only Allen Iverson among qualifying NBA guards, and ninth-best overall." He was behind Kobe too. Pls edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.93.47.38 (talk) 22:07, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- There were other guards too, so I just removed all mention of rank among guards.—Bagumba (talk) 22:25, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Can we at least wait until Joe Johnson makes his debut for the jersey number to be announced? 2605:6000:3F05:2800:A4C1:5275:E62:4D46 (talk) 18:41, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
