[edit]Is it actually called "Mount Edgecumbe/Putauaki", or is it either "Mount Edgecumbe" or "Mount Putauki"? If the latter is the case, then this article should be moved to whichever of those names is more common (perhaps the "official" name if that is hard to determine) and the other should be listed at the top of the article. -[[User:Aranel|Aranel ("Sarah")]] 18:06, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- The standard way of naming New Zealand articles with joint names is this way. It will indeed be called Edgecumbe Putauaki by some, though one name or the other rather than both is more common. Compare similar articles on other new Zealand places with double names, though, like Stewart Island/Rakiura and Aoraki/Mount Cook. Grutness...wha? 02:00, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Mt Edgecumbe is not extinct; it is likely to erupt again so it would be better classified as dormant. This is in my field of interest so I'll update it when I have time. Pkeestra (talk) 02:12, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
