Maltus
[edit]Since there have been no more references to Malthus (that I know of) in decades, and Crisis in Infinite Earths showed Oa as the place where Krona's experiment took place, it seems official for the current version of the DC Universe that Oa IS the birthplace of the Guardians of the Universe, the Controllers and Zamarons.

Center of the universe
[edit]I must disagree with the statement about space being infinite and therefore Oa can't be at the center of the universe. As far as current physics states, especially in the Big Bang theory, there is a limit to the universe we live in. Plus, since this is a fictional universe, the real universe's rules may not apply. Regardless of which is true, Green Lantern comics over the years have made it explicitly clear that Oa is at or near the center of the DC Universe, not just the galaxy. [User: Oknazevad]
- Actually, according to current physics, no place in the universe can be any more the "center" of the universe than any other place, so the center of the universe is either everywhere or nowhere. See metric expansion of space for details.
- That said, you are correct that Oa is indeed stated clearly in the comics to be at the center of the universe. As you say, this is a fictional universe, and the rules of physics obviously are different in the DC Universe (where, for instance, there are "metahumans" with superhuman strength and speed, flight, x-ray vision, and other superpowers) than in the real universe.
- Obviously, as far as Oa and the Green Lantern Corps are concerned, their system is the center of the universe, expansion of space aside.--Auric (talk) 20:24, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Questions On A Weird Planet
[edit]1) Didn't Oa used to feature this weird book that detailed the history of all Green Lanterns?
2) How did Tom Kalmaku restore the planet?
3) Would it be noteable to note who -died- on the planet? Ch'p, Sinestro, Kilowog, to name a few. Lots42 15:08, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
A Note
[edit]I removed the bit that speculates on that one dude maybe being imprisoned on Oa after a fight in Wayne Manor. Speculation is frowned upon. Lots42 (talk) 02:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Prime Duty
[edit]Wouldnt it be prudent to add Prime Duty and its description? I know this may be a redundant fact but it was a probation at one point, and a somewhat significant one.(Skullguardian (talk) 11:38, 29 October 2008 (UTC))

[edit]Depiction of Oa
[edit]With all the fuzz around the upcoming Green Lantern movie, it could be a good time to update the image of Oa. In regards of that there is some wonderful concept art going over the internet, and you can find it on this page for example: http://screenrant.com/green-lantern-concept-art-oa-sandy-84115/
- Is there an accepted image? We're not talking Mogo here, it's a planet filled with reality-altering smurfs. Lots42 (talk) 06:38, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Oa → Oa (comics) – (and redirect Oa to OA) This title is a simple two-letter combination, lowercase second letter notwithstanding. There would be need to be a strong significance argument to keep this here, which I'm not seeing. A search for oa -"the oa"
does not indicate there's a primary topic for this digram. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 17:11, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

- Support The OA has 87,653 views and The Oa has 278 compared with only 1,259[[1]] for the comics. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:32, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

- Support - It's reasonable that someone would use
Oa
when looking things like The Oa or even things that are typically/officially OA; people often only capitalize the first letter of an acronym or initialism (like Fbi), and this article's subject isn't the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by usage or long-term significance. - Aoidh (talk) 14:50, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
