Incomplete list
[edit]I have added the Arabic names of most of the entries here. So a huge improvement on what it was prior to August 2008. But since this list is arguably not an extensive list, I have added "incomplete" template for further additions. A reliable source is needed to provide for a comprehensive list of cities. But so many very noteworthy cities are not mentioned here. From the top of my head, (and very easily), Jall el Dib - Zalka, Bourj Hammoud, Khaldeh and many more. Thus the need for someone to come up with a comprehensive list, preferably distributed by mouhafaza and qada' werldwayd (talk) 01:19, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- This link may prove useful. It's a list of the municipalities in Lebanon, grouped by district. I'm not sure of its accuracy, but it's maintained by the government. ← George [talk] 12:19, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

What a mess
[edit]I have just added a link to one of the locations listed under Akka. There seems to be a problem with what can be described as a town or a city. (I see over sixty locations identified under Akka in the populated places list.) Is there any way of tightening up this or defining this category? Padres Hana (talk) 08:55, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- What about: 1. minimum population 1,000. 2. if population not know and linked article describes location as village move. 3. if no linked article but reference found on internet and 1 & 2 apply move to one of the other lists otherwise remove (ie no reference anywhere). ? Padres Hana (talk) 19:54, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
The problem is; what goes into this list, and what goes into List of municipalities of Lebanon? I assume there is some official distinction done here? -which is defined ..somewhere? Huldra (talk) 21:12, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- Ouch I wasn’t aware of the municipalities list (though I see I have edited it). O Lebanon. It is possible there are lists. But accurate population figures - I’m not so sure. I’ll ask around. But everyone’s minds are on other things just now. In the meantime I’m just going to tinker about. e.g. removing Ain Baal from the Tyre list. Looking at the satellite picture there can’t be more than 200-300 houses. I’m calling that a village. All the best. Padres Hana (talk) 20:28, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

[edit]It doesn't really seem like there is any list of specific criteria for this list. A user above said he approved a village because of the number of houses he counted. I think we should use the official UNHCR 2015 list for Lebanese localities. Here is the list download link. PalauanReich (talk) 16:45, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
