Updated
[edit]Updated to show the significance it undoubtedly had in the growth of American multiculturalism.
- Indeed, someone should update this page with a short bio about Dondi and his influence on the hiphop graffiti movement. I would, except this ip has been barred from editing due to vandalism. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 137.164.142.2 (talk • contribs) .
- But you just did edit!
Image of Dondi would be nice
[edit]I just stumbled across this page and memories of reading this strip as a child in the late 1960s and early 1970s came flooding back to me. I would love to see someone include an image of Dondi but sadly, I am not very adept at uploading pix to Wikipedia and dealing with all the Copyright issues. If a more experienced editor would take this on, I'd be grateful. Lisapollison 05:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Dondi's Origins
[edit]The first paragraph under "Characters and Story" is almost completely wrong. I don't know where the information came from -- maybe from the movie, which I've never seen -- but the storyline in the comic strip, as reprinted in Dondi Vol. 1 from Classic Comics Press, is completely different. Dondi never knew his parents or his name. The two soldiers found him freezing in a bombed-out building. According to the strip of 10/14/1955 (and the Mark Evanier POV column already cited in the footnotes of the Wiki article), he misunderstood when a Red Cross worker called him a "dandy boy," and took "Dondi" as his name. If no one has any dispute, I'll update the article.

Janssen who?
[edit]The sentence, "Produced and directed by Albert Zugsmith, the film was released 26 March 1961.[5] Film historian Leonard Maltin asserted, “Watch this film, and you'll know why Janssen became a fugitive!â€" needs some setup, as well as character correction.
