re: {{expansion}}
[edit]I am not "somebody more knowledgable about its subject". I posted the {{expansion}} tag because a dictionary definition is inadequate for an encyclopedia. I am hoping to read more about Adamastor the Gigante, esp. when there is no mention of Adamastor in Gigantes. And I think at least some mention of Adamastor the rebel boat -- if the boat's flag was chosen as a template to develop the national flag of Portugal, the boat must be important in some way, and we currently lack such info in Wikipedia. If you are "somebody more knowledgable about its subject", please expansion this Wikipage accordingly. Many thanks. -- PFHLai 20:08, 2004 Aug 4 (UTC)
- Thanks for the {{expansion}} tag, I completely agree with it.
- As to him being one of the Gigantes, it can either be an omission on that article or a (mine) translation problem from the source wich is in portuguese.
- Added something about the cruiser Adamastor. I disregarded that, not noticing that it is related to two of the most important events in portuguese history of the 19th and 20th century. As a matter of fact the republican revolution is quite interesting as it started with a so messed up plan that it's military leader (Cândido dos Reis) suicided in it's first hours. I hope someone starts something like Portuguese Republican Revolution
- If not... I'll try to do so, even if not being an expert, as it's quite easy to get good sources since I live in Portugal.--Nabla 00:01, 2004 Aug 5 (UTC)
