Your edit to Fish tank clan
[edit]A tag has been placed on Fish tank clan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Fish tank clan is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Fish tank clan. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. - CobaltBlueTony 15:50, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! - CobaltBlueTony 16:07, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

- How are these 400 people notable? Please see WP:BIO, WP:WEB, and Wikipedia:Notability to learn more about the guidelines for assertions of notability. - CobaltBlueTony 16:11, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
1) Competition in 'Cyber Athlete Professional League' Sportspeople/athletes/competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming, or at the highest level in mainly amateur sports or other competitive activites that are themselves considered notable,
2) Google test (Fish Tank Clan is first on Google, MSN, and Yahoo) Google Test -- Does the subject get lots of distinguishable hits on Google or another well known search mechanism?
3) Awarded fun site of the day award by http://www.computershack.net (on the lower right)
4) Content on the site by PROFESSIONAL authors, Chris West (SEO article author, counter strike article writer) for other articles, 8 serious seo suggestions is first on google search written by Chris West
This should be proof enough for wikipedia rules. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ddxfish (talk • contribs) (11:25, September 26, 2006)
- 2) Google/Yahoo test revealed lots of hits... from many many link farms and sites that you pay to promote your link. It was difficult at best to find source material to verify any information. (Interesting that you state on your user page that you work in "content management" -- specifically search engine specialists
- 3) Computer Shack home page reveals nothing notable about this website and it's represented organization, so it's recommendation seems hardly notable.
- 4) Search for "Fish Tank Clan" and "Chris West" together revealed not hits at all. Please profide a link to Mr. West's article or some way to verify his notability and involvement with the Fish Tank Clan.
- Nice try, but this is just more self-promotional additions. There is nothing notable about individual computer gaming groups, unless you can provide verifiable evidence that you have won notable awards in this category. You have a personal interest in this matter, such that perceiving your edits as promotional without regard to faithful correlation to Wikipedia's requirements as unencyclopedic and therefore unhelpful is not without merit. - CobaltBlueTony 17:14, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
This page should not have been deleted. It follows wiki rules, and is a notable page. This should be changed. - —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ddxfish (talk • contribs) 12:53, October 3, 2006
Vegetable starch
[edit]I decided to make Vegetable starch redirect to Starch, as the latter is a much more comprehensive treatment. Veinor (ヴエノル(talk)) 21:44, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Skoal tobacco
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Skoal tobacco, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
