Thanks for the help! Where can i find a list of 'HELP REQUESTED' for specific sections? for i.e. Islamic Architecture, or Mosques.
NEWUSER 23:13, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
- If I understand you question, you may want to look at Wikipedia:Requested articles and Wikipedia:Pages needing attention. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 23:17, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia english site is very very very very (did i mention very?) slow! Why is the site runing so slow? Sometimes i just want to pull-my-hair waiting for the page to load!! This only happens during the week and esp. during day-time (M to F). note im one a fast DSL connection.

You need to add copyright tags to the image page. The different copyright tags are listed and explained at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Let me know if you aren't sure which tags to use and I'll help you.--Duk 22:45, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

Zzyzx11 has returned
[edit]Because of some of the comments I received by you and others on my talk page, and some other events, I have decided to return today -- but with a few self-imposed restrictions on myself. See my user page if you are interested. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Happy editing and see you around ;-) Zzyzx11 (Talk) 22:09, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
Good to see you back with us!
[edit]Welcome back Zzyzx11! I read through the post you made on your page regarding your new approach to dealing with Wikipedia and I think it’s fair, since you are setting up a guideline, it should help keep your stress level way down (or for your sake, hope it will). I did not get a chance to reply before, as I lost my password and I can’t seem to be able to recall it or find a developer to help me! So this post is made from my office. NEWUSER --66.241.130.114 12:39, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
Re:Good to have you back
[edit]Thank you. As you can see on my user page, I made some adjustments so I would not feel so stressed out editing here.
In the meantime, I suggest you register a new account. As I heard, because you never entered your email address, there is essentially no way an admin or developer can really truly verify that you are you, if you get my gist. And once you register your new account, here are some things you can do:
- Make sure you enter your email address on this account so you can reset your password if you forget it again.
- If you don't want other Wikipedia users to contact you on that email address, check the "Disable e-mail from other users" box on Special:Preferences.
- Put a note on your new user page that you were previously editing as User:NEWUSER.
Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 14:53, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help, i got a new account (with email on profile....) and moved my information over! --NEWUSER|CARPEDIEM (talk) 23:32, 20 May 2005 (UTC)
Wikimedia Canada
[edit]Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 15:03, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Timuridempiremap.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Timuridempiremap.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dome-of-the-rock-4.gif)
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Dome-of-the-rock-4.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 21:18, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Dome-of-the-rock-1.gif
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:Dome-of-the-rock-1.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Dome-of-the-rock-1.gif|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image source problem with Image:Toronto-1-.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Toronto-1-.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:33, 1 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 23:33, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
