Sources?

[edit]

The Biology section contains a lot of great information, but where did it all come from? Could I see some sources? For example, "A Chimecho can produce seven different tones..." and "Chimecho is a herbivore - its diet consists of berries and nuts, which it plucks using its long tail." Where was this information obtained?

This information is mostly extrapolated from the Pokedex entries for that Pokemon. In Chimecho's case, from this link. Copying the Pokedex entires is might be considered a copyright violation in Wikipedia. So, what I try to do is weave all the information garnered from the Pokedex entries into a cohesive piece of text and, when possible, add some snippets of information that can be safely assumed (i.e. calling Chimecho a herbivore when the Pokedex says it eats nuts and berries is a logical conclusion, not original research). Occasionally, info for the "Biology" section can also be taken from in-game text, the anime, or the trading card game. Sinistro 09:07, 24 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I actually had never read Chimecho's Emerald or FireRed/LeafGreen Pokédex entries, so lots of that information about berry-eating and the 7 different tones were new to me. Thanks for that. :)

Last in 3rd gen programming?

[edit]

Since Chimecho is the last Pokemon programmed in the third generation, and the chances of obtaining one are slim, couldn't it be hinted that Chimecho was supposed to be in the fourth generation (where they are common), But was tacked onto the third gen at the very last second? I know Wikipedia doesn't make conclusions without actual proof, but it still seems like something worth looking into. 68.112.254.106 21:52, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
