Hello new user and welcome to Wikipedia. A few tips for you:

Do you have a source for Solomonoff's death this year? I have reverted it until it can be verified. Also, you should never mark such a large change (the death of a person) as a minor edit, even if the amount of text changed is small. See WP:Minor edit. ah, that's too bad. It seems like we ought to wait until a more reputable source comes out to put a death date though. I'm sure he'll have an obituary. Cheers, — sligocki (talk) 23:42, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
i think the source is highly reputable: Ben Goertzel. Rainer Wasserfuhr (talk) 13:52, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mean that Goertzel is not reputable, but that a tweet is not a good source. Rumors can spread quickly through channels like twitter and well intentioned people could easily propagate them without checking the facts. Looking at Goertzel's article, there's no indication that he knew Solomonoff personally, so we don't know where he got the information from. Likewise, there's no rush to update the article and Wikipedia expects more fact-checking when it comes to WP:Biographies of living people. Cheers, — sligocki (talk) 22:37, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
They "could", but BenGoertzel tweets under his RealName, in public. If he would be wrong, this would be corrected within minutes, which did not happen until now: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=Solomonoff. So I estimate a correctness of his StateMent of at least 99%. Rainer Wasserfuhr (talk) 23:42, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
